It didn’t occur to us that Marni hasn’t publish any editorial campaign for 20 years, until we saw its new photoshoot for its 2015-2016 collection. Through the artwork by Boston-born, U.K.-raised photographer Jackie Nickerson, Marni attests the idea of "not to do it unless do it best.”
We were super impressed, maybe a little thrilled by this conceptual campaign. Set in the high contrast of color block and shadow play, the heroine woman is in twisted posture with hidden face. It resembles certain moments in our life, which are still and vivid at the same time. No surprise, the theatricality and intensity reminded us of Wes Anderson’s "Budapest Hotel“.
Welcome back to the editorial world, Marni!
