We are back! In the past month, we spent the winter holiday back home in China. Lots of great food and awesome trips! Hope you had a joyful break too. :)

The Suzhou Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art, ancient Chinese paintingscalligraphy, and handmade crafts. Though it's not a great large museum, its curation and display are beautiful and carefully thought-through. There was a special exhibit of the painting of Chen Danqing (prob. the most prominent contemporary oil painter in China) when we visited, which is a surprise to our pleasure.

What we really came here to worship is its architecture. The current building of Suzhou Museum was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei. It is said to be the last design of Mr. I.M.Pei in his career.

Not only does it become a monumental design building in Suzhou, but also a significant construction, merging the traditional Chinese architectural design with the contemporary.

We were truly touched by its modern interpretation of Suzhou cultural heritages. Mr. Pei likes bringing the nature into his work as well as using lights and reflection, both perfectly demonstrated in Suzhou Museum.
