Summer is not complete without vacation and beach. (We had a great one in Sanya, so it check off the list!) During my earlier swimwear hunt, I noticed a lot of interesting trends this year and seriously love so many of the refreshing designs. Keep reading for 3 of my great finds.

1. Wear your swimsuit out

Many designers has blurred the line between swimwear and RTW. Among them, the Australian brand Zimmermann is definitely Aussie bloggers and celebs’ favorite. Its designs have flattering silhouette and feminine elements such as embroidery, lace and cut-out. You can totally wear the pieces for urban looks or as cute lingeries. If mixed and matched under the jacket, its swimsuit makes a perfectly sexy date night. Its mesh cover-up also suits for summer in the city.

Our major complaint may be that we don't have much occasion, aka vacation, to wear bikini in real life (unless you are those lucky ones in the sunny LaLaLand or with a private pool in the backyard). Well, it's good to know that this summer, a gorgeous swimsuit doesn’t just belong to the beach.

Another Australian brand SHE MADE ME also caught my eyes. Its swimwear is all crochet knit and totally made for Coachella. Its lookbook has this faded, vintage tone that reminds me of the lazy, sun-kissed days, and the carefree young Bohemian girl.

2. Scuba Athleisure

The next things I need to do:

1. get a PADI license so that I get to wear these zip suits

2. move to Australia

Thanks for the sporty chic, fashion-forward and practicality can co-exist. I spotted two Aussie brands, WE ARE HANDSOME and Duskii, that make the water zip suits so desirable. They bring out the healthy sexiness, as in the scene when Honey Ryder emerging from the crystal blue Caribbean in Dr. No.

3. Cutout One-Piece

The return of one-piece doesn't refer to the 50s covered-up boxer bathing suit. The freshest shape right now is the more substantial cut-away. Compared to the picky, teeny-weeny bikini, the cutout one-piece provides more coverage and slimmer silhouette. With body covered in the middle, a low-cut in front, back or sides doesn’t look excessively exposed but instead has an implied sexiness and obvious chicness. Larger coverage also gives designers more space for creativity, such as neck line and details of weave and knot.

Many designers has introduced their interpretations of cutout one-piece. My favorite find is this cute brand Mikoh, created by a duo of southern Cali sisters. What attracts me is its refreshing style, young spirit and brave yet unpretentious design.

Such cutout top is also in trend to replace bikini top.

With all these exciting new fashion for the beach, there is one more reason to enjoy this summer.
